- Create a New Email Address Â
Before anything else, you’ll need a new home for your messages. Don’t worry — this part is easier than it sounds, and you only need to do it once.Â
Good, simple options:Â
- Gmail → gmail.comÂ
- Outlook → outlook.com
Creating an Outlook Email (Outlook users) (Step-by-Step) 1. Go to Outlook.com and choose Create account.Â
- Type in the email address you’d like (for example: yourname@outlook.com). 3. If it’s already taken, try adding a middle name or a favourite number. 4. Create a secure password.Â
- Enter your first and last name.Â
- Select your country and date of birth.Â
- Click Next.Â
Your fresh Outlook inbox is now ready — well done!
Creating a Gmail Email (Gmail users) (Step-by-Step)Â
- Go to gmail.com and choose Create account.Â
- Enter your name.Â
- Choose a username you like.Â
- Create and confirm your password.
- Add your mobile number so Google can keep your account safe. 6. Type in the code they send you.Â
- Add a recovery email if you’d like.Â
- Confirm your details.Â
And that’s it — your new Gmail address is ready for action.Â
- Moving Emails and Contacts from Manx.net Â
You’ve got your shiny new email address — now let’s gently bring your important bits with you. Moving Emails into Gmail (Gmail users only) (Gmail users only) (Drag & Drop) (Gmail only — and very simple!)Â
- Open your Manx.net inbox and Gmail inbox side by side.Â
- Highlight the emails you want to keep.Â
- Drag them across into Gmail.Â
- Drop them into the folder you want.
Exporting Contacts into Outlook (Outlook users only) (Outlook users only)
1. Open your Manx.net mailbox.Â
- Go to Contacts.Â
- Click Export.Â
- Choose the group of contacts you wish to save.Â
- Open Outlook and import the file.Â
Your contacts will now appear safely in Outlook.
- Let Gmail Collect Your Manx.net Emails Automatically (Gmail users only)Â Â Â Â
If you’d rather not move emails one-by-one, Gmail can fetch them for you. 1. In Gmail, click the Settings cog.
1. Select See all settings.Â
- Go to Accounts and Import.Â
- Choose Add a mail account.Â
- Enter your Manx.net email.Â
- Check the details look right.Â
- Click Add Account.Â
- When asked if you want to send as your old address, choose No. 9. Click Finish.Â
It may take a few days — but sit back and let Gmail do the lifting.Â
Tip: Check your Spam folder now and again just in case.Â
- Set Up Email Forwarding (Manx.net)Â
Forwarding ensures that anything sent to your old address still reaches you. 1. Log in to your Manx.net email. 1. Click the small grid icon.
2. Go to Settings.
3. Look for:
o Automatically forward emailsÂ
o Send an automated reply
4. Click Edit.
5. Add your new Gmail/Outlook address.
6. Add both a start and end date (Manx.net needs these to save the changes). 8. Set to Enabled.Â
This helps make sure nothing important gets lost during the changeover. _
5. Search for Emails You May Need to Update Â
A quick search can help remind you where your old address is being used. Try searching for:Â
- “Confirmation”Â
- “Receipt”Â
- “Subscription”Â
- “Account created”Â
This helps catch shops, apps, and services that still use your Manx.net email.Â
